What was important for you this year? Perhaps a job promotion or starting a new relationship got you excited!
Here at gelattina great things happened along the year and we want to share a few of them with you:
Right at the beginning of 2008, the small office we were sharing had to be expanded when the team grew from 5 to 10 people
We created gelattina TV in January to showcase our own video and multimedia productions
Sent our first monthly newsletter in March , getting a lot of positive feedback
In April became the tech partners of “La Silla” the Advertising Festival with great success!
Did a long trip to Malaysia in May to promote gelattina and to learn a lot at the WCIT
Launched out first website with video integrated as part of the design. We learned a lot about recording and optimizing video for the web, casting actors and yelling “take five everybody”!
Had a busy summer coaching 2 brand-new startups
In September we got our Facebook page to be closer to our clients and friends
Did our first interface for an iPhone application in October
In November we got our Twitter account to yak some more. It’s been great to meet new and interesting people trough Twitter
gelattina got selected in November to participate on a business accelerating program in Montreal during 2009
We Ran a contest @Facebook during December!
Started to build a path towards becoming social media experts. You’ll get to see a few of those projects launch during 2009.
In December we moved to a new, bigger, better home. The gelattinaPlex is more comfortable in every single way and it will be our home for a few more years until we need more space!
You’ve probably heard about Twitter already, and yet maybe you are not sure what it is.
Twitter is a service for social networking, founded in 2006.
It allows users to post their status by answering a simple question: What are you doing?
Every post or ‘Tweets’ should not be longer than 140 characters.
Your Twitter profile can be public or private if you want to protect your Tweets until someone asks to follow you and you decide to grant them permission.
Twitter’s simple and easy-to-use interface has made it very popular and important in the social media scene.
During the 2008 US presidential elections, every candidate had their twitter profiles with thousands of followers:
If you already use twitter to communicate with your friends and family, share your thoughts with us and let us share ours with you by following us: gelattina @ Twitter
A few days ago, on a trip to Mexico City i had the pleasure of meeting for lunch with Efrain, the head of agency relations for google Mexico and Latin America.
We discussed pretty much all about social media and its current status in Mexico and USA.
We also talked about google’s adwords system and Efrain shared some practical suggestions for us and the benefit of our clients.
Of course the magnificent googleplex was also part of the conversation!
The evening ended with a nice little tour around google’s office in Mexico and i got to take some pics to share with all of you!
I have been a blogger for myself for quite a few years. Now i was asked to write for gelattina’s new blog.
So many questions come up when a company decides to start writing a corporate blog: What should we blog about? How much time will the company dedicate to feedback reading? How much time is going to be invested in talking to the community?
Truth be told, when you work at a great company such as gelattina, the questions are answered as the blog is evolving, so, the first thing that happens when starting a corporate blog is… writing about writing corporate blogs I guess!
Stayed tuned as we embark in this beautiful and wonderful experience of blogging for gelattina!
